Meet Our Founder
Sareen Karshafian, a recent graduate and current master's student at McMaster University, is the visionary behind arMentor. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) in Biomedical Discovery & Commercialization in 2024. Embarking on her university journey amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, she transitioned to higher education entirely online, feeling the weight of navigating the unfamiliar terrain of university life. However, a simple conversation with her younger cousin sparked an idea. Recognizing the value of guidance, especially for those without a familial connection in higher education, Sareen founded arMentor. This initiative bridges the gap between high school students and university mentors, offering invaluable insights and support. Despite the initial challenges, Sareen remains dedicated to the project, envisioning a future where arMentor not only connects individuals but also fosters a community of Armenians supporting each other's academic and personal growth.
